Introducing Terhalle

Terhalle was established in 1986 and has grown to become a prominent European leader in wood-based manufacturing and modular construction. Initially a small carpentry business, Terhalle expanded its operations in 1990 to meet the increasing demand for timber construction. By 1992, the company began constructing timber frame houses, and in 1995 it started offering turnkey buildings.

Today, Terhalle boasts a diverse portfolio of services, including roofing, facade construction, and modular timber buildings, along with their renowned windows and facades division. With over 592 employees, the group has completed nearly 13,000 projects and plays a pivotal role in training the next generation of skilled workers in carpentry, metal, and civil engineering.

Role in the project

In the GreeNest project, Terhalle's expertise in wood processing will contribute to the development of GreeNest’s digital taxonomy and integration of sustainable materials. Their participation spans multiple technical work packages, particularly focusing on the construction and implementation of zero-emission buildings (ZeB). Their wood-based innovations will be showcased in demonstration buildings, highlighting their role in advancing sustainable modular construction.
